Gallantry and Service Excellence: Jharkhand Officials Honored on Independence Day

19 Jharkhand Employees to Receive National Recognition in Delhi Ceremony

Jharkhand’s finest to be celebrated for their bravery and dedication in special Independence Day awards.

RANCHI – Nineteen officials and employees from Jharkhand are set to receive national honors for their exceptional service and courage during the 78th Independence Day celebrations in Delhi.

In a testament to valor and commitment, seven individuals from Jharkhand will be awarded the prestigious gallantry medal.

Among the recipients is Garhwa Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Pandey, an IPS officer of the 2019 batch.

Pandey’s recognition stems from his courageous actions as Additional Superintendent of Police in Lohardaga district.

He played a pivotal role in eliminating the notorious Naxalite Chandrabhan Pahan and apprehending zonal commander Govind Brijia.

Other gallantry medal recipients include Sub Inspector Vishwajeet Kumar Singh and Havildar Umesh Singh.

Constables Subhash Das, Gopal Ganjhu, and Ravindra Toppo, along with Assistant Sub Inspector Sachchidanand Singh, complete the list of gallantry awardees.

The ceremony will also honor 11 police personnel with the commendable service medal for their unwavering dedication.

Recipients of this honor include Head Constable Salomi Minj and Constable Vimal Kumar Chhetri.

Constables Randhir Kumar Singh, Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, and Hema Rani Kullu are also among the honorees.

Head Constables Sanjay Oraon, Arun Oraon, Rituraj, Rajendra Ram, and Sanjay Kumar round out the list of service medal recipients.

Constable Rekha Kumari’s consistent performance has also earned her this prestigious recognition.

In a groundbreaking moment, fireman driver Pyare Lal Timbwar becomes the first fire service personnel from Jharkhand to receive a bravery medal.

Timbwar’s heroic efforts in controlling a major fire at a Sahibganj road construction site last year, despite sustaining serious injuries, earned him this honor.

His award is part of a larger recognition of 47 fire department employees across India for their exceptional bravery.

An official involved in the selection process stated, "These awards reflect the unwavering commitment of our personnel to public safety and national security. Their actions inspire us all."
