JAMSHEDPUR – On Tuesday, Health Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh visited MGM Hospital, the largest government hospital in Kolhan, to inspect its emergency ward, ICU, and various other departments.
Ajay Kumar Singh, along with a team from the Health Department, conducted a thorough inspection of the hospital premises.
He stated that the visit was in line with the state government’s directives, with the aim of identifying and addressing issues at MGM Hospital.
The inspection revealed several deficiencies in the hospital.
Ajay Kumar Singh emphasized the need for substantial improvements at MGM Hospital.
Despite recent state-level efforts to address the shortage of doctors, the inspection found numerous issues in the emergency department.
Patients were found being treated on the floor due to a lack of beds.
In response, Singh directed an increase in the number of beds to accommodate patients better.
He also addressed the staff regarding the cleanliness of the hospital.
Several closed rooms containing unusable items were opened, and instructions were given to clean and repurpose these areas.
Singh also reviewed the performance of the doctors on duty in the emergency department.
He gave the hospital superintendent, Dr. Ravindra Kumar, a one-week deadline to rectify the identified deficiencies, warning of possible actions if the issues were not resolved.
The inspection team included Deputy Superintendent Dr. Nakul Chaudhary and heads of all hospital departments.
