Saryu Roy Challenges Health Minister Banna Gupta’s Allegations

Jamshedpur East MLA urges CM to investigate claims made by Banna Gupta

Saryu Roy, MLA from Jamshedpur East, has called for a thorough investigation into allegations made by Health Minister Banna Gupta.

JAMSHEDPUR – Saryu Roy, MLA from Jamshedpur East, has requested Chief Minister Hemant Soren to investigate allegations made by Health Minister Banna Gupta.

Roy stated that Gupta is repeating accusations previously made by associates of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das over the past four years.

The MLA addressed three main allegations in his statement to the Chief Minister.

Regarding the first allegation about reinstating a marketing officer, Roy explained that the decision was made due to a shortage of officers in the department.

He clarified that applications were sought from retired officials without any charges against them.

Roy emphasized that the appointment of Sunil Shankar, a retired marketing officer, was made following proper departmental procedures and scrutiny.

The second allegation concerns the publication of a magazine to inform district officials, ration dealers, and consumers about departmental policies and central government directives.

Roy explained that this decision was made in consultation with the finance department and followed rates set by the Information and Public Relations Department.

He highlighted that a tender was published for the magazine’s printing, with conditions to recover any price differences from the printer.

Addressing the third allegation about outbound calls, Roy stated that the agency selection was done through a tender process by the directorate, not the department.

"I had no involvement in the selection of the agency for outbound calls," Roy asserted.

The MLA urged Chief Minister Soren to conduct an investigation through any agency, including the CBI, ACB, or the Advocate General, to clarify the matter.

Roy emphasized that these allegations have already been under scrutiny by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs Department.
