A 16-year-old girl in Jamshedpur’s Kadma area has accused her cousin of repeated sexual assault over two years.
JAMSHEDPUR – Police have arrested a man accused of repeatedly raping his 16-year-old cousin over a two-year period in the Kadma area of Jamshedpur.
The accused, identified as P Sen, was taken into custody on Saturday.
The victim alleges the abuse began in August 2021 when she was 14 years old.
According to her statement, the accused threatened her with a gun during the initial assault.
The ordeal reportedly continued for nearly two years, with the victim living in constant fear.
On August 1, 2024, the girl finally resisted and informed her family of the abuse.
The victim’s statement was recorded before First Class Judicial Magistrate Arpana Kumari under POCSO Act provisions.
She claimed the accused has connections with anti-social elements and politicians.
The family promptly reported the matter to the police upon learning of the incidents.
An FIR was registered based on the victim’s statement, leading to the arrest of P Sen.
The accused has been remanded to custody as the investigation continues.
Both the victim and the accused reportedly lived in the same house.
