Kolhan’s Tourism Potential Highlighted by SCCI to State Officials
Chamber meets with Tourism Dept., presents proposals for regional development
The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) delegation discussed Kolhan’s tourism potential with state officials.
JAMSHEDPUR – SCCI representatives met with Tourism Department officials to propose enhancements for Kolhan’s tourism sector.
During the meeting in Ranchi, the SCCI delegation, spearheaded by President Vijay Anand Moonka, convened with Manoj Kumar, Secretary of State Tourism Department, and Director Anjali Yadav.
The group presented a comprehensive plan to bolster the region’s tourism industry.
Chandil Dam Development
Manoj Kumar revealed plans for substantial investment in the Chandil Dam area.
He stated, "The Central Government will allocate Rs. 100 crore under the Swadesh Yojna for Chandil Dam’s tourism development over the next 3-4 years."
This project aims to transform the site into a major tourist attraction.
Proposed Enhancements for Various Locations
The SCCI delegation offered suggestions for several key locations:
1. Chandil Dam:
– Upscale restaurant establishment
– Guest house construction
– Introduction of water sports
– Improved sanitation facilities
2. Dalma:
– Infrastructure development (roads, lighting, security)
– Enhanced trekking facilities
– Promotion of natural attractions and ancient Shiva Temple
3. Dalma-Dimna Ropeway:
– Cable car system implementation on NH 33
4. Satnala Dam (Dobo):
– Further development as a tourist spot
5. Burudih Dam:
– Addition of boating and water sports
– Construction of guest house and restaurant
6. Mahadevshal:
– Infrastructure improvements for pilgrims
Tourism Conclave Announcement
Moonka announced an upcoming Tourism Conclave organized by the Chamber.
"Next month, we will host a conclave to explore the region’s tourism prospects and implementation strategies," he explained.
Government Response
The Tourism Department officials assured consideration of the proposals.
They confirmed the allocation of funds for Chandil Dam’s development under the Swadesh Yojna.
