New facilities mark milestone in school’s commitment to modern education

Loyola School celebrates St. Ignatius Feast Day with inauguration of advanced labs and digital library, showcasing commitment to innovation in Jesuit education.

JAMSHEDPUR – The St. Ignatius Feast Day marked the inauguration of a Digital Library and a state-of-the-art Astronomy, Robotics, and AI Lab at Loyola School.

The background for a substantial increase in educational resources was the commemoration of St. Ignatius of Loyola’s feast day at Loyola School.

The Chief Guest for the event was District Commissioner Ananya Mittal, who was welcomed by Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes S.J. and Fr. Victor Misquith S.J.

The day commenced with a customary lamp-lighting ceremony, which was succeeded by an Ignatian prayer conducted by Fr. Victor Misquith S.J.

Students demonstrated their abilities through a variety of performances, such as dances, melodies, and video presentations.

The school’s dedication to Jesuit values was underscored by an exam that focused on St. Ignatius, which captivated both participants and spectators.

The Jesuit mission’s ongoing relevance in influencing the minds of young people was illustrated through an innovative performance that depicted the 250-year legacy of St. Ignatius.

The Loyola magazine was unveiled by the Chief Guest, Ananya Mittal, to offer students a platform to express their creativity and thoughts.

The school has implemented its own application, which is intended to facilitate the accessibility of school information, in order to remain current with technological advancements.

The app was developed by alumnus Ishaan Ahuja from the 2008 cohort and was also introduced by the Loyola Alumni Association.

Principal Fr. Vincent Vinod Fernandes stated, "These new facilities are indicative of our dedication to equipping students with the resources necessary to succeed in the contemporary era."

The school’s commitment to community service was emphasized by the organization of a Blood Donation Camp in partnership with the alumni association.

The establishment of these state-of-the-art facilities not only improves the educational offerings of the school but also serves to reaffirm its dedication to holistic development and innovation.
