Women Lead Grand Kalash Yatra in Jamshedpur

Bhalubasa Jambu Akhara’s female-led procession set for August 12

Annual Shravan event showcases women’s empowerment through religious tradition and community participation.

JAMSHEDPUR – Bhalubasa Jambu Akhara is organizing a lively Kalash Yatra in the city, with women at the vanguard of the planning and execution.

The procession this year represents a substantial change, as the Akhara’s women’s branch assumes responsibility for the event that is scheduled for the fourth Monday of Shravan.

At Swarnarekha Ghat, the spiritual voyage will commence with the convergence of participants from all over Jamshedpur.

Ritika Srivastava, one of the primary organizers, stated, "We are providing transportation to ensure widespread participation."

The procession route will traverse significant city landmarks, such as Baradwari Apex Hospital and MGM Hospital.

In order to heighten the festive ambiance, the coordinators have arranged for musical accompaniment and a tableau that showcases Lord Shiva.

Kakoli Mukherjee, another prominent organizer, stated, "Our objective is to establish a unique experience that seamlessly integrates community spirit with tradition."

The event will conclude with a collective Jal Abhishek ceremony at the Baba Lingeshwar Nath temple.

This initiative, which is spearheaded by women, not only commemorates religious traditions but also underscores the increasing prominence of women in community leadership.

The organizers are making meticulous preparations to guarantee a smooth and joyous celebration as the city anxiously anticipates this grand spectacle.
