Critics argue new budget fails to address inflation, job creation
The recently unveiled budget faces criticism for allegedly neglecting key issues affecting common citizens and farmers.
JAMSHEDPUR – The fiscal proposals put forth by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the annual budget for the Modi government’s third term has generated considerable flutter among local politicians and several leaders have criticized the budget. Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi is one of them too.
MLA Mangal Kalindi strongly slammed the budget today. He argued that it fails to address the urgent issues faced by everyday citizens who are struggling with increasing living expenses and said that it has nothing for the common masses.
The legislator contended that the financial plan provides minimal assistance to the residents of Jharkhand and neglects to tackle the concerns of farmers at the local level.
Mangal Kalindi also expressed his strong concern about the government’s failure to disclose job creation statistics over the past decade.
He said that it indicates a potential lack of transparency in employment data on the part of the central government.
"This budget is simply a manipulation of figures and nothing more than that," commented Mangal Kalindi and further said, "It does not offer practical solutions to the actual problems affecting our economy."
Experts pointed out that the lack of strategies to address inflation is a significant drawback of the fiscal plan.
According to him the budget fails to address the pressing needs of the general population, especially in states like Jharkhand.
Concerns have been also raised about the future prospects of the agricultural sector due to the insufficient provisions for farmers.
Several critics of the budget argued that the budget fails to adequately tackle the pressing issue of unemployment. They say that it is of utmost importance for India’s expanding labor force keeping in mind the fact that crores of youth are added to the job market each year.
The effectiveness of the new fiscal measures in stimulating economic growth and providing relief to citizens continues to be a topic of debate, Kalindi added.
