District committee finalizes book selection for 32 government institutions

East Singhbhum district advances educational resources by enhancing libraries in 32 government schools, following a crucial District Level Library Committee meeting.

JAMSHEDPUR – The East Singhbhum district administration has taken a significant step towards improving educational facilities in government schools.

A District Level Library Committee meeting, held at the Collectorate Auditorium, focused on enhancing libraries across 32 government schools in the district.

Deputy Development Commissioner chaired the meeting, adhering to directives from District Magistrate Ananya Mittal.

"Our goal is to foster a rich learning environment through well-stocked libraries," stated the Deputy Development Commissioner during the meeting.

The initiative targets various educational institutions, including CM Schools of Excellence, Block Level Adarsh Vidyalayas, and Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential Schools.

A diverse committee, comprising education officials, school principals, students, and an award-winning teacher, curated a comprehensive book list for procurement.

"We’ve selected books that will not only support the curriculum but also encourage a love for reading," shared a committee member.

The selected titles will be supplied to school libraries using funds allocated for the 2023-24 financial year.

Once finalized, work orders will be issued to suppliers and publishers at the district level, with payments managed by the state.

This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the quality of education and broaden students’ access to diverse learning materials.

The district’s commitment to improving educational resources reflects a broader strategy to foster academic excellence in government schools.
