Jamshedpur’s 24th Ramarcha Puja Concludes with Grandeur

Annual religious event draws devotees for elaborate Lord Ram worship

Celebration to continue with Rudrabhishek and Mahaprasad distribution, featuring special ‘Hathi Kaan’ puris from Buxar.

JAMSHEDPUR – The 24th annual Ramarcha Puja, a revered religious gathering, wrapped up on Sunday at the Baridih office premises under the patronage of local MLA Saryu Roy.

The event, coinciding with Guru Purnima, saw devotees partake in intricate rituals honoring Lord Ram and his entourage.

Commencing at dawn, the puja began with the purification of the altar and its surroundings, followed by the Shanti Path.

The main ceremony unfolded in four stages, each dedicated to different aspects of Hindu mythology.

"The first stage focused on Mata Gauri, Lord Shiva, and thirteen other deities," explained Gaurikant Thakur, the head priest from Begusarai.

He added, "The subsequent stages invoked 21 deities from Ayodhya, Lord Ram’s family, and finally, Lord Ram and Sita Mata themselves."

The altar, adorned with banana pillars and marigold garlands, served as the focal point for the gathered devotees.

A centrally placed Kalash added to the sanctity of the setting.

As the day progressed, the ceremony concluded with a havan and aarti, followed by the distribution of prasad.

Notable attendees included Ashutosh Rai, Parul Singh, and Dharmendra Tiwari.

A team of priests, including Vinod Pandey and Ghanshyam Mishra, conducted the rituals under Thakur’s guidance.

The conclusion of the puja marks the beginning of further celebrations.

A Rudrabhishek is scheduled for Monday morning, to be followed by the distribution of Mahaprasad.

"We’ve prepared a pandal at the Ramarcha ground for the prasad distribution," shared one of the organizers.

"We’re expecting thousands of devotees to partake in the prasad, including our special ‘Hathi Kaan’ puris."

These unique puris, crafted by artisans from Buxar, are a highlight of the event.

The annual Ramarcha Puja not only serves as a religious gathering but also as a community event, bringing together people from various walks of life in devotion and celebration.
