Madrasi Sammelani Celebrates Annual Diya Puja in Jamshedpur

Traditional Ceremony Invokes Prosperity and Well-being for Community

 South Indian cultural organization’s yearly ritual brings together devotees for spiritual observance and community bonding.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Madrasi Sammelani, located on L Road in Bistupur, held its annual Diya (sacred lamp) Puja on Friday, continuing a cherished tradition during the month of Aadi (Ashad).

“This annual puja is conducted to invoke prosperity, health, and happiness for our community,” stated G. Shankar, Chairman of the Madrasi Sammelani.

Key Highlights of the Ceremony:

1. Ritual Observances:

   – Recitation of Sri Lalita Sahasranama Archana

   – Sri Lakshmi Ashtotara Archana

   – Sri Durga Ashtotara Archana

   – Sri Rama Ashtotara Archana

2. Community Participation:

   – Women members led the puja proceedings

   – All devotees chanted the Sri Mahisasura Mardhini sloka

3. Ceremonial Conclusion:

   – Maha arati performed by priest S. Ramachandran

   – Prasad distribution to devotees by committee members

Notable attendees included V. Natarajan (Vice President), S. Subramanian (Secretary), and Natarajan Siva (President of the Board of Trustees), among other key committee members.

The annual Diya Puja serves as a significant cultural and spiritual event for the South Indian community in Jamshedpur, fostering a sense of unity and tradition.

This celebration underscores the rich cultural diversity of Jamshedpur, highlighting the city’s embrace of various regional traditions and religious observances.
