Disappearance Cases Rise in Jamshedpur

16 people missing in five months, government suspects human trafficking.

The rising number of disappearances in Jamshedpur has alarmed authorities, who are linking the cases to potential human trafficking.

JAMSHEDPUR – The trend of people disappearing continues to escalate, with numerous individuals reported missing recently.

Over the past five months, three people have gone missing from Tatanagar Railway Station alone.

In the same period, about 16 people have vanished from the Jamshedpur area in East Singhbhum district.

The increase in disappearances in recent days is a growing concern for the state government, which is investigating potential links to human trafficking.

Police have been instructed to thoroughly investigate these cases and report back to the government on the whereabouts and circumstances of the missing persons.

Statewide, 179 people have disappeared over the past five months.

These cases span various districts, including three from Tatanagar Station and two from Dhanbad railways.

Ranchi records the highest number of missing persons, followed by Dhanbad and then Jamshedpur.

Three people each have gone missing from the districts of Seraikela-Kharsawan and West Singhbhum.

In response to the suspected human trafficking, railway police have been mobilized.

Special measures are being implemented by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Tatanagar to prevent further disappearances and trafficking incidents.

The GRP chief stated that efforts are ongoing to locate every missing person, and notices are being issued.

The RPF chief affirmed their commitment to ensuring no child goes missing from the station and preventing any form of trafficking.
