New Twist in COVID Incentive Scam Involving Health Minister Banna Gupta
MLA Saryu Roy asked to submit mobile phone for investigation purposes.
The investigation into the COVID incentive scam involving Health Minister Banna Gupta has taken a new turn with MLA Saryu Roy asked to submit his mobile phone.
JAMSHEDPUR – The role of Health Minister Banna Gupta in the COVID incentive scam has come under renewed scrutiny as the investigating officer from Doranda police station has issued a notice to MLA Saryu Roy, requesting his mobile phone for examination.
The notice was issued under Section 91 of the Indian Penal Code, with the investigator asking Roy to provide the mobile phone he used during March-April 2022.
This request is part of the ongoing investigation into case number 105/2022 by the Jharkhand Health Department.
In response, MLA Saryu Roy has questioned the purpose of this request.
He asked the investigator what specific information they hope to obtain from his mobile phone and how it would aid in the investigation.
Roy mentioned that the notice he received was unclear and urged the investigator to clarify their intentions.
One of Roy’s supporters commented, "The authorities need to be transparent about why they need the mobile phone and how it relates to the investigation."
The case continues to unfold, with more developments expected as the investigation progresses.
