Dengue Cases Surge In Jamshedpur As Monsoon Intensifies

Ten Confirmed Cases At MGM Medical College Vector Test Lab

District administration launches large-scale prevention measures across urban areas.

JAMSHEDPUR – The city is facing a growing threat of dengue and viral fever as monsoon season progresses, with hospitals reporting an influx of suspected cases.

"Ten dengue cases have been confirmed at MGM Medical College’s vector test lab," a health department official stated.

The cases, from Tata Main Hospital and Mercy Hospital, indicate a widespread outbreak.

District Magistrate Ananya Mittal has ordered extensive fogging and anti-larvae treatments.

"We’re concentrating efforts on waterlogged areas, known mosquito breeding grounds," a Municipal Corporation representative explained.

Key actions include:

– Large-scale fogging in urban areas

– Spraying of anti-larvae chemicals in every ward

– Deployment of bleaching powder in contaminated sites

Health department is on high alert, with preparations at various levels to handle the situation.

Local doctors warn of deteriorating hygiene conditions, especially in fringe areas.

Residents are urged to maintain cleanliness and avoid water stagnation to prevent mosquito breeding.

This outbreak highlights the need for coordinated efforts between authorities and the community to combat dengue.
