Monsoon Weakens Again Across Jharkhand, Raising Farmer Concerns

State Receives 51% Less Rainfall Than Average, With Only 135.4mm Recorded

Meteorologists predict improved rainfall from July 12 after extended dry spell.

RANCHI – The monsoon activity in Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, has once again become weaker, which is different from what was previously expected of having good rainfall in early July.

"According to a state agriculture department official, the state has received 51% less rainfall than the average."

As of July 8, we have only received 135.4mm of rain, which is below the expected amount of 265mm by July 10.

Ranchi, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela-Kharsawan are some of the districts that receive the lowest amount of rainfall.

On Tuesday, Jamshedpur had a very hot day with the temperature reaching a scorching 36.1°C.

The highest temperature recorded in the state was 37.0°C in Daltonganj.

"According to Abhishek Anand, a meteorologist at IMD Ranchi, there might be thunderstorms and lightning in certain areas on July 10," mentioned.

On July 11, there will be cloudy conditions in several districts.

Meteorologists are predicting that there will be better rainfall starting from July 12, which is giving hope to farmers who have been worried about the lack of rain.

People in Jharkhand are concerned about the extended dry spell and how it might affect agricultural activities.
