Solar Pump Initiative Aims to Boost Agricultural Productivity
DM Ananya Mittal urges swift processing of applications to benefit eligible farmers.
JAMSHEDPUR – District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal conducted a review meeting for the PM-Kusum Yojana at the Collectorate Auditorium, focusing on application progress and scheme implementation.
"This initiative has the potential to transform agriculture in our district by addressing irrigation challenges," Mittal stated during the meeting.
Scheme Progress
1,107 verified applications received against a target of 573.
District Agriculture Officer instructed to examine all applications for eligible beneficiaries.
Scheme Benefits
Provides subsidized solar pump sets to farmers for irrigation.
Reduces dependence on rainwater, enabling year-round crop production.
Lowers agricultural expenses by cutting fuel and electricity costs.
Application Requirements
Farmers need to submit:
Identity card
Residential certificate
Land receipt
Notary-attested declaration
Only one person per family is eligible for the scheme.
"Farmers with approved applications should promptly make their contributions through the online portal," advised the District Agriculture Officer.
Mittal emphasized the scheme’s importance in unlocking the district’s agricultural potential, currently hindered by inadequate irrigation facilities.
