JAMSHEDPUR – Residents of Sitaramdera area in Jamshedpur staged a protest on Wednesday against construction work at the Kuan Maidan, a local playground.

The Labor Department had initiated building construction on the site, deploying JCB machines to accelerate the work.

"This field is our children’s playground," stated Aman Kumar Path, a local resident. "We can’t let it be taken away."

Concerned citizens had previously appealed to the Deputy Commissioner and Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer to halt the project.

"We’ve temporarily stopped the work in response to the residents’ protests," Kumar explained.
