Woman Delivers Baby on Platform at Tatanagar Railway Station
Quick-Thinking Female Constable Assists in Emergency Delivery
A female passenger gave birth to a child on platform number one of Tatanagar railway station on Friday morning, assisted by a female constable from the Government Railway Police (GRP).
JAMSHEDPUR – A woman passenger delivered a baby on platform number one of Tatanagar railway station on Friday morning, with the help of a female constable from the Government Railway Police (GRP).
M Lomga, along with her husband M Champai, was on a journey from Ludhiana to Sonuwa in West Singhbhum district aboard the Jallianwala Bagh Express.
When the train pulled into the station at around 5 am, Lomga was overcome with intense labor pains. She found a spot in front of the GRP station and laid down, seeking relief.
Constable Sakhi Chandra Prasad, who was on duty at the GRP station, swiftly responded and promptly alerted station officials to provide urgent medical assistance.
Even though the railway medical team arrived shortly afterwards, Lomga had already brought a healthy child into the world.
The mother and the newborn were later taken to Sadar Hospital for additional medical care.
Both individuals are said to be in good health.
This incident showcases the quick response and unwavering commitment of the GRP personnel in dealing with emergencies.
Constable Sakhi Chandra Prasad’s alertness and swift action played a vital role in ensuring the safe delivery of the child.
