18-Year-Old Allegedly Kills Younger Brother Over Video Game Dispute Near Bengaluru

Accused Hit 13-Year-Old Victim Multiple Times with Hammer, Leading to His Death

In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old boy allegedly murdered his younger brother following an argument over playing video games on a mobile phone on the outskirts of Bengaluru on May 15.

BENGALURU – The police have identified the deceased as 13-year-old P and the accused as his elder brother, 18-year-old SK.

The incident took place in a farmhouse near Neriga village, where the brothers lived with their parents, who hail from Adoni in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.

According to the police, the dispute began when P was playing games on SK’s mobile phone on Wednesday afternoon and refused to return the device when asked by his elder brother.

The argument escalated, and SK allegedly threatened P with a hammer.

In a fit of rage, SK reportedly hit P on the head with the hammer, causing him to fall to the ground.

The accused then allegedly struck his younger brother seven or eight more times with the hammer.

The incident remained undiscovered until 6:30 pm when the parents returned from work, and SK informed them about finding P’s body.

The Sarjapura police were subsequently notified about the death.

Although SK initially feigned innocence, he was found to be the last person to see Pranesh alive and the first to discover the body.

Upon questioning, Shivakumar confessed to the murder, according to a police officer.

The accused has been arrested and produced before a court, which has sent him to judicial custody.
