Illegal Water Connections in Bagbera Colony Disrupt Supply, Prompt Stern Action from Authorities
Residents of Bajrang Tekari Accused of Drilling into Main Water Line, Leaving 150 Houses without Proper Supply
Bagbera Colony head Rajkumar Gaur and Deputy head Santosh Thakur have taken swift action against illegal water connections in the area, following a secret tip-off about residents of Bajrang Tekari drilling into the main water line from Bishtupur to Bagbera Colony.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Bagbera Colony Water Supply Scheme, designed to provide clean drinking water to residents, has been severely compromised due to illegal water connections by a few individuals in Bajrang Tekari.
Upon receiving confidential information, Bagbera Colony head Rajkumar Gaur and Deputy head Santosh Thakur personally investigated the site and discovered the unauthorized tapping of the main water line.
The officials immediately ordered those responsible for the illegal connections to remove them, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
They warned that failure to comply would result in the lodging of an FIR against the offenders, underscoring the authorities’ determination to address the issue.
Subodh Jha, a concerned resident, revealed that the illegal connections have had a devastating impact on the water supply to approximately 150 houses spanning from Road Number 1 to 3 of Bagbera Colony.
He further highlighted the plight of 80 to 85 households on Road Number 3 of Bagbera Colony, who have been deprived of even a single drop of water for the past two years due to the unauthorized tapping.
Jha urged the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department to take prompt action to resolve the problem and restore the water supply to the affected households.
He emphasized the need for the department to work in collaboration with the Colony head to swiftly identify and shut down all illegal connections.
The incident has exposed the vulnerabilities in the water supply infrastructure and the audacity of some individuals who resort to unlawful means to secure water for their own benefit.
