NIT Student’s Robotics Feat Wows All

NIT Jamshedpur’s Prashant Sharma impresses with an innovative 18 kg combat robot.

First-year NIT Jamshedpur student Prashant Sharma makes waves with his combat robot, aiming for international recognition.

JAMSHEDPUR – Prashant Sharma, a first-year student at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, has recently earned accolades for his outstanding contribution to the field of robotics. In an impressive first attempt, he has designed and built a combat robot weighing 18 kg, marking a significant achievement in engineering and robotics.

The robot is engineered with the ability to overturn its adversaries, showcasing a level of strategic sophistication and mechanical ingenuity. At the heart of its exceptional performance is a custom-designed geared motor, a testament to Prashant’s meticulous engineering skills.

This innovative feature played a pivotal role in the robot’s success during its debut at the Ojas festival, a celebrated techno-management event hosted by NIT Jamshedpur. Here, the robot stood out for its unique capabilities, especially in matches against competitors from prestigious institutions like IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay.

Prashant’s project garnered widespread admiration, not only for its technical excellence but also for the teamwork and collaborative spirit behind its creation. He extended his thanks to Souvik Nath, Supreet, Aniket, Ashish, Pallab, Satyam, Ayush, and Amit for their support throughout the project.

Buoyed by this success, Prashant is now setting his sights on the international stage, eager to showcase his combat robot’s capabilities on a larger platform.
