Tatanagar Station Boosts Accessibility with New Escalator

Third escalator to ease platform transitions, enhancing passenger experience at Tatanagar

Tatanagar railway station’s upcoming escalator installation aims to significantly improve access between platforms for passengers.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tatanagar station is on the brink of unveiling a new escalator, set to significantly enhance the convenience for travelers moving between platforms.

Following a series of successful trial runs, the new escalator located near the parcel area on platform number one is ready for public use, marking a significant upgrade in passenger facilities.

Currently, Tatanagar features two operational escalators, but the station’s expansion plans include the addition of four more to further ease passenger movement.

The first of the new escalators, part of the station’s expansion efforts initiated in 2019, will be installed at the foot overbridge near Burmamines Second Gate, offering a much-needed alternative to stair access between platforms.

This development is crucial for improving the overall travel experience, particularly for those with mobility challenges or carrying heavy luggage.

Additionally, an escalator is being installed near the washing line overbridge, expected to be operational by July, further contributing to the station’s accessibility enhancements.

Efforts are also underway to install a lift on platform number two at the foot overbridge near Burmamines Second Gate, ensuring comprehensive accessibility solutions are in place for all passengers.

This series of upgrades at Tatanagar station underscores the commitment to providing a more comfortable and accessible travel environment, reflecting broader efforts to improve railway infrastructure for the benefit of passengers.
