Saryu Roy quashes Lok Sabha poll rumors, focuses on Jamshedpur East

MLA prioritizes assembly elections, vows to combat extortion and fear in the region

Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has dismissed speculation about his candidacy in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Dhanbad or Chatra, emphasizing that his priority is to contest the next assembly elections from his current constituency. "I want to make it clear that my priority is to contest the next assembly elections from Jamshedpur East," Roy stated in a statement.

JAMSHEDPUR – Saryu Roy has scotched the rumors that he intends to contest Lok Sabha elections in 2024. He said that contesting from Jamshedpur East in the next Assembly elections is his priority and for now he is focusing on his constituents and their issues.

He also clarified that he has not discussed the possibility of contesting the Lok Sabha elections with any leader from national or regional parties, despite receiving numerous calls urging him to do so.

The MLA expressed his determination to liberate the people of Jamshedpur East from elements of extortion, bullying, fear, and terror, which he believes have started to resurface in various forms.

"I am satisfied that even after the two-year interruption of the Covid period, the amount of development work I did in the remaining two years was more than was done in the last 25 years," Roy said, highlighting his significant development work in the region.

Focus on development and public welfare

The MLA mentioned that many of his schemes for development works and public facilities have been approved, with some already in progress, some set to begin, and others in the planning stages.

Combating extortion and fear

Roy noted that whenever there are reports of him contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Dhanbad or Chatra, the morale of the elements he has been working to eradicate increases, prompting him to issue an official statement to clarify his stance.

"Without completely liberating the people of Jamshedpur East from such elements, my promise to the people of the region will not be fulfilled," he asserted.
