Seraikela DM Ensures Accelerated Benefits from Housing and MNREGA Schemes

In a pivotal move, Seraikela’s top officials aim for swift beneficiary support under key welfare schemes, focusing on housing and MNREGA.

SERAIKELA – The District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner, Ravi Shankar Shukla, led a critical review meeting via video conferencing.

He emphasized the need for enhanced coordination to ensure the government’s welfare schemes reach a broader beneficiary base.

Key officials, including the Deputy Development Commissioner Shri Prabhat Kumar Baratiar, were in attendance.

Block Development Officers and Block Program Officers across the region took part.

The meeting also saw participation from coordinators of the Housing Scheme at district and block levels.

A major focus was the expedited disbursement of the first installment under the Sukrit Abua Housing Scheme.

Officials targeted to accelerate the scheme’s benefits within a week.

The Kuchai, Seraikela, and Chandil Block Development Officers received specific directives.

They were tasked with ensuring 150 beneficiaries each received their first payment by the previous day, 28 February 2024.

The review extended to MNREGA’s various initiatives, including the Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme.

Improvements in well construction and scheme approvals with the aid of SHG Didis from JSLPS were discussed.

Certain blocks were highlighted for slow progress, prompting a call for explanations from responsible officials.

The meeting underscored the administration’s commitment to enhancing the impact of government welfare efforts.
