West Singhbhum’s Pansuwan Dam: A Potential Tourist Spot
Push for amenities at Pansuwan Dam to enhance its appeal as a natural tourist destination.
CHAIBASA – A move to transform Pansuwan Dam into a recognized tourist destination has gained momentum, with local MP Geeta Koda taking significant steps towards this goal.
She has reached out to Kuldeep Chaudhary, the Deputy Commissioner of West Singhbhum district, urging the development of the dam’s surrounding infrastructure.
Koda’s correspondence outlines the necessity for constructing community toilets, a shelter, a bathing ghat, and an electricity system to accommodate visitors.
This initiative was further emphasized through a personal delivery of the letter by a delegation from the Congress party, led by District President Chandrashekhar Das, on Monday.
The delegation comprised key figures such as General Secretary Trishanu Rai, Secretary Sunny Lugun, and several local leaders, demonstrating strong political support for the project.
Pansuwan Dam, located in the scenic village of Banskata, Sonuva block, is known for its natural allure, encircled by the verdant Podahat hills.
This area, celebrated for its natural beauty, draws visitors with its picturesque setting, making it a prime candidate for tourism development.
