Guidelines Issued for Peaceful Maghe Festival in Sadar Block

The Maghe festival in Matkamhatu and Kamarhatu will focus on harmony and traditional observance, banning DJs and late-night dancing.

CHAIABSA – The communities of Matkamhatu and Kamarhatu in Sadar block are preparing to celebrate the Maghe festival on March 1 with a blend of devotion and adherence to established norms, as decided in a recent Gram Sabha meeting.

Munda Birsa Devgam led the meeting in Kamarhatu village, setting the stage for a festival that emphasizes joy and unity.

To ensure the festivities proceed smoothly, the Gram Sabha has put forth specific guidelines, including prohibitions against obscene slogans and DJ music, aiming to preserve the festival’s traditional essence.

There will also be a strict enforcement against the consumption of country liquor and restrictions on dancing, limiting group activities to before 9 pm to maintain order.

Violators of these rules will face social penalties, underlining the community’s commitment to a respectful celebration.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of participating in annual sports events, contributing to the festival’s community spirit.

Prominent attendees included Mukhiya Juliana Devgam, former Mukhiya Ladu Devgam, and several Panchayat Samiti members and local dignitaries, showcasing widespread support for the planned celebrations.
