Former CM to Face Court After 13-Day ED Custody in Land Scam Case

Hemant Soren, entangled in an 8.46-acre land scam, concludes his 13-day ED custody, facing court next.

RANCHI – The ED’s custody of Soren, initially taken for questioning from Hotwar jail on February 3, concludes on February 15, when he is expected back in court.

Soren, after being remanded by the ED three times, was subjected to a total of 13 days of interrogation.

The former Chief Minister’s repeated interrogations underline the ED’s scrutiny, which spans a significant portion of the allowed remand period.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) took custody of Hemant Soren for a thorough interrogation related to the land scam, marking a critical phase in the investigation.

Soren, who was apprehended by the ED on January 31 for his involvement in the Badgai zone land scam, is slated for court presentation following the remand period’s conclusion.

Meanwhile, JMM plans to protest sit-ins in all districts on January 15 against the alleged harassment of Hemant Soren at the hands of ED.

The protest against the alleged mistreatment of Hemant Soren by the ED, will be organized by JMM in Ranchi too along with other districts of the state..

JMM will also protest in Ranchi, where participants will fast for a day to voice their disapproval of the treatment Soren received.

Mushtaq Alam, the Ranchi District President of the party, revealed the party’s stance against the perceived harassment of Soren by the central government using the ED.

The JMM has chosen Morabadi Ground’s Bapu Vatika in Ranchi as the hunger strike’s venue, aligning with the party’s central committee’s plans.
