DFO Sinha leads efforts to hydrate saplings, aiming to prevent forest fires in Saranda.
Forest Department’s innovative approach to safeguard new saplings from summer dehydration in Saranda.
JAMSHEDPUR – To combat the harsh summer conditions, the Saranda Forest Department has embarked on an innovative initiative under the guidance of DFO Abhirup Sinha.
For the first time in Saranda, water tankers resembling rickshaws are being deployed across different forest ranges to ensure saplings receive enough water.
These efforts are a part of the department’s strategy to maintain the health of millions of newly planted saplings during the summer months.
The initiation of these water tankers follows DFO Sinha’s orders, aiming to prevent the dehydration and death of young trees.
This proactive measure is in response to the challenges posed by increasing temperatures, which threaten the survival of these vital plants.
The department has started its preparations on an urgent basis, recognizing the significant threat posed by the summer heat.
As summer approaches, preserving these saplings becomes crucial for the forest’s future sustainability.
The forest officials and workers are determined to protect the flora from the adverse effects of the summer, led by DFO Sinha’s foresight.
This initiative was motivated by the successful planting of millions of saplings in Saranda’s vacant lands last monsoon, with the goal of forest rejuvenation.
Collaboration with rural communities has been key to this reforestation effort, focusing on planting a variety of tree species across barren areas.
Efforts to protect Saranda’s forest from the summer’s heat underscore the Forest Department’s commitment to environmental preservation.
