Hemant Soren for Prioritizing Tickets to Loyal Party Workers

Former chief minister opposes giving tickets to turncoats, emphasizes dedication and long-term association

As the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) awaits the Congress party’s announcement of candidates before revealing its own, former chief minister Hemant Soren has reportedly sent a message from jail to current chief minister Champai Soren, urging the party to prioritize loyal and dedicated workers when allocating tickets.

RANCHI – In a message sent from jail, former chief minister Hemant Soren has advised the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to grant party tickets only to those workers who have been associated with the party for a long time, emphasizing the importance of loyalty and dedication.

Soren has strongly suggested against giving tickets to any turncoats, a move that was met with opposition from JMM workers of the district committee when discussions arose about bringing in a leader from the BJP and offering him a ticket in Jamshedpur.

Upon learning of this matter, Hemant Soren sent a clear message that no "imported" tickets should be given, and only dedicated leaders are entitled to the party ticket.

According to sources, the JMM may announce its candidates on April 6 or 7, with potential candidates including Vijay Hansda from Rajmahal, Stephen Marandi or Nalin Soren from Dumka, Mathura Mahato from Giridih, and Dashrath Gagrai from Singhbhum.

In Jamshedpur, the names of the party’s Central Committee member Sunil Mahato, Savita Mahato’s daughter Sneha Mahato, and Aastik Mahato are being discussed as potential candidates, although no official confirmation has been made yet.

Hemant Soren’s message from jail underscores the importance of party loyalty and long-term association, as the JMM prepares to announce its candidates for the upcoming elections.

The former chief minister’s stance against accommodating turncoats and his emphasis on rewarding dedicated party workers has resonated with the JMM’s district committee, which had previously opposed the idea of importing a candidate from the BJP.

As the party continues to wait for the Congress to announce its candidates, the JMM leadership is carefully considering the selection of its own candidates, taking into account factors such as loyalty, dedication, and long-term association with the party.

The upcoming announcements will provide clarity on the JMM’s strategy and the candidates who will represent the party in the forthcoming elections, as the party aims to maintain its strong presence in Jharkhand’s political landscape.
