TV Narendran Appreciates Interim Budget’s Focus on Infrastructure and Innovation

Tata Steel’s CEO TV Narendran praises the interim budget’s increased infrastructure spending and support for research and innovation, emphasizing its potential to fuel economic growth and job creation.

JAMSHEDPUR – TV Narendran, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Steel, has expressed approval for the interim budget’s financial commitment to fostering research and innovation.

This move, he believes, will propel the ambitions of the younger generation.

Narendran highlighted the government’s dedication to developing a ‘Viksit Bharat,’ particularly emphasizing the eastern region’s development.

He described the government’s plans to establish three economic railway corridors under the PM Gati Shakti Yojana as critical for boosting steel demand and enhancing connectivity and logistics.

These developments, according to Narendran, will contribute to the expansion of rural housing.

He applauded the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s decision to increase capital expenditure on infrastructure, predicting a substantial impact on India’s overall economy.

Narendran’s endorsement of the budget underscores Tata Steel’s commitment to India’s infrastructure and technological advancement.

Commenting on the interim budget, Mr. Narendran said: “The announcement by the Hon’ble Finance Minister today to increase the capital expenditure on infrastructure is a welcome step, which would have a multiplier effect on the nation’s overall economy. The continued expansion of rural housing along with the proposal to develop three economic railway corridors under the PM Gati Shakti Yojana are other significant moves that will spur steel demand, create jobs, and improve connectivity & logistics.”

He further added: “ It is heartening to see the government’s emphasis on every region contributing to a ‘Viksit Bharat’ which is underscored by a special focus on the eastern part of the country.

The financial support envisaged to promote research and innovation is an encouraging initiative which will help nurture the aspirations of our youth.”
