FM Nirmala Sitharaman: Every Family to Get 300 Units of Free Electricity Each Month

New DelhiIn a significant move, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled a series of major announcements during the final budget of the second term of the Modi government on Thursday.

The government has recently launched a solar scheme as part of this series.

In a recent announcement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revealed that as part of the ‘Rooftop Solar’ initiative, one crore households will receive a monthly allocation of 300 units of complimentary electricity.

This move aims to provide sustainable energy solutions to a significant number of families. Under the solar rooftop scheme, it is projected that households will be able to save approximately Rs 15000-18000.

In a recent development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting on January 22 to announce the launch of the “Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana.” The ambitious goal of this initiative is to equip one crore households with rooftop solar power installations.

According to the Prime Minister, utilizing solar energy on rooftops can help households lower their electricity expenses and achieve self-sufficiency in meeting their power requirements.

The objective of the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana is to ensure access to electricity for individuals with low and moderate incomes by implementing rooftop solar energy systems. In addition, there will be an opportunity for increased income through the generation of additional power.

The Prime Minister has instructed for the initiation of a nationwide campaign to encourage residential consumers to widely embrace rooftop solar energy.
