ED’s Inquiry into CM Soren Sparks JMM Demonstrations and Traffic Disruptions
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha activists block NH 33 in protest against the Enforcement Directorate’s actions targeting Chief Minister Hemant Soren, leading to significant traffic jams and clashes between demonstrators.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tensions flared on NH 33 as Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supporters staged a protest against the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) pursuit of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The demonstrators, voicing their disapproval, caused a significant traffic jam on the highway.
Activists blocked the road and raised slogans against the ED and the central government, expressing their solidarity with CM Soren.
The situation intensified with intermittent clashes between groups chanting pro-Centre and anti-ED slogans.
In response to the escalating situation, police forces were promptly deployed to manage the traffic disruption and maintain order.
JMM leaders vehemently criticized what they perceive as the central government’s misuse of constitutional institutions.
They condemned the directive to arrest Soren, arguing that it is an unjustified action disrupting the state’s governance and development work.
The protest highlighted the growing discontent among JMM supporters regarding the ED’s repeated interventions, which they claim are hindering the state government’s efforts to progress.
