Bengali Community Unites at Bongo Utsav in Gopal Maidan

The Bongo Utsav Committee organized a vibrant celebration of Bengali culture at Gopal Maidan, with local committees showcasing their heritage and pledging unity.

JAMSHEDPUR – The local Gopal Maidan resonated with cultural pride as the Kolhan level Bongo Utsav unfolded, organized by the Bongo Utsav Committee.

Various local committees from Kolhan regions presented an array of cultural programs, creating a festive atmosphere among Bengali speakers.

Speakers at the event unanimously pledged to remain united and continue advocating for the preservation of Bengali language and culture.

Kabu Dutta, a representative from Chaibasa, highlighted the current neglect faced by the Bengali-speaking community, terming it as unbearable.

Achintam Gupta, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, along with female members, emphasized the significant presence of Bengali speakers in the state, yet lamented their neglect.

The community expressed its determination to secure rights for the Bengali language and culture, suggesting a unified stance in upcoming elections if necessary.

This event not only celebrated the rich Bengali heritage but also served as a platform for addressing concerns about cultural preservation and rights within the community.
