Tata Steel Foundation Boosts Disability Support in Dhanbad
Sabal Project: Empowering PWDs with Assistive Devices in Baghmara
Tata Steel Foundation, in a significant move to support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), has distributed 50 assistive devices in Baghmara Block under the Sabal Project, aiding individuals in gaining improved mobility and independence.
JAMADOBA – The Tata Steel Foundation, demonstrating its commitment to community welfare, has successfully launched a two-day assistive device distribution event in Dhanbad’s Baghmara Block.
On January 24, the Malkera Community Centre witnessed the beginning of this impactful initiative.
Senior figures from Tata Steel and local leadership, including Sanjeev Thakur and Sujit Kumar Jha, were instrumental in inaugurating the event.
Key community leaders like Bipin Singh Choudhary from Tata Steel Foundation and local panchayat representatives Anjana Devi and Vinod Rajak also graced the occasion.
This programme marks a collaboration between Tata Steel Foundation and Bhagwan Mahaveer Vikalang Kalyan Sahayata, New Delhi.
The first day of the programme saw the distribution of various types of assistive devices to PWDs.
These devices, ranging from artificial limbs to wheelchairs, are designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
Tata Steel Foundation’s focus on the Baghmara Block, specifically through its Jamadoba unit, represents a targeted approach to aid 20 panchayats.
The Sabal Project, under which this initiative falls, is a testament to Tata Steel Foundation’s dedication to social responsibility and inclusivity.
