ED Fortifies Office Ahead of CM Hemant Soren’s Interrogation
Impenetrable Security at ED Office for CM Soren’s Questioning
As the Enforcement Directorate prepares to interrogate Chief Minister Hemant Soren on January 20, its office in Ranchi transforms into a fortress with heightened security and strict entry protocols.
RANCHI – In a significant move to safeguard its premises, the Enforcement Directorate’s office on Ranchi Airport Road has been transformed into a fortress-like structure.
The security upgrade, a response to the impending interrogation of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a land scam case, involves a comprehensive barricading of the area.
The police, following directives from their headquarters, have significantly reinforced the security at the ED’s zonal office.
In preparation for this high-profile interrogation, a formidable security front, including two gunners, has already been established within the ED office premises.
A protective net now surrounds the entire office, ensuring an additional layer of security.
On Friday, the police force presence was notably increased, sealing off the vicinity with barricades to regulate entry.
Access to the ED office is now strictly controlled, with thorough security checks for everyone.
The interrogation of Chief Minister Soren, scheduled for January 20, is part of an investigation into a land scam in Ranchi.
In anticipation, the ED had communicated with key state officials, including the Chief Secretary, DGP, and Ranchi SSP, to coordinate security arrangements and maintain order.
Ranchi Police, in response to the ED’s request, has tightened security not only at the ED office but also around the Chief Minister’s residence.
Special escort arrangements have been made for ED officials traveling from their office to the Chief Minister’s house for the interrogation.
Chief Minister Soren, responding to ED’s eighth summons, has agreed to the January 20 interrogation date.
ED officials are scheduled to reach the Chief Minister’s residence at noon for the questioning.
Meanwhile, various tribal organizations, under the Central Sarna Committee, have rallied in support of CM Soren.
A march to the Raj Bhavan was organized, following a foot procession from Morhabadi Maidan.
During this rally, the tribal organizations issued stern warnings against any perceived harassment of the Chief Minister.
Ajay Tirkey, President of the Central Sarna Committee, expressed solidarity with CM Soren, criticizing the central government’s actions against the tribal Chief Minister.
He warned of escalating protests if the central government’s approach remains unchanged.
Tribal groups have shown strong unity in opposing the ED’s actions, visibly supporting the Chief Minister with Sarna flags and placards during protest marches.
