JAMSHEDPUR – A massive fire erupted at Kerukocha Haat in Chakulia block of East Singhbhum district on Saturday afternoon.
The blaze started during firecracker testing at a market organized for Makar Sankranti.
Multiple firecracker shops caught fire, leading to widespread panic and chaos.
As a result, 13 bikes, one cycle, and a small elephant vehicle were burnt to ashes.
A fire department vehicle reached the site and controlled the fire after about an hour of effort.
The fire outbreak occurred near NH 18 in the Shyamsundarpur police station area.
The incident caused disruption and fear among the attendees, with many fleeing the scene.
Local MLA and police officials arrived to assess the situation and discuss compensation.
In total, about a dozen firecracker shops were destroyed in the fire.
Fortunately, there were no human casualties, preventing a major disaster.
Following the incident, all firecracker shopkeepers fled the scene.
The police are currently investigating and tracking down the shopkeepers involved.
