CM Fellowship Scheme Enhances Research and Education in Jharkhand
In a significant move to boost academic excellence in Jharkhand, the state government announced the launch of the CM Fellowship Scheme and other educational initiatives. Higher Education Principal Secretary Rahul Purwar detailed these schemes, aimed at promoting research, providing financial assistance, and enhancing the quality of education across various levels.
RANCHI – The CM Fellowship Scheme, as explained by Rahul Purwar, offers monthly stipends to PhD students from both government and private universities in Jharkhand.
Under this scheme, UGC NET/CSIR NET qualified students will receive Rs 25,000 per month, while those who have passed the Jharkhand Eligibility Test will get Rs 22,500 monthly for four years.
The scheme is set to benefit a thousand students annually, marking a significant investment in the state’s academic future.
Additionally, the Guruji Student Credit Scheme, another ambitious state initiative, will provide education loans up to Rs 15 lakh at a concessional 4% annual interest rate.
This loan scheme is tailored for students attending top educational institutions, with the convenience of repaying the loan EMI only after course completion.
The Eklavya training scheme focuses on providing free coaching for competitive exams like UPSC and JPSC, alongside a monthly allowance of Rs 2,500 for eligible students.
Aimed specifically at female students, the Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme will offer annual financial assistance for technical education.
At the Polytechnic, Diploma, and Undergraduate levels, students will receive tuition assistance of Rs 1,500 per month, and Rs 2,000 at the Post Graduate level for one semester.
In line with the new National Education Policy 2020, Jharkhand’s state universities, including the Technological University, have adopted a standard credit framework for four-year undergraduate programs.
The Model University Act (Jharkhand Private Universities Bill) has been drafted to ensure quality teaching in private universities, signifying a commitment to educational excellence.
The press conference, attended by various officials, including Information and Public Relations Department Director Rajeev Lochan Bakshi, underscored the state’s focus on elevating its educational landscape.
