In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, 14 SDM officers in Jharkhand have been promoted to the rank of Joint Secretary.

RANCHI – Jharkhand’s administrative framework has been strengthened with the promotion of 14 Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) rank officers to the position of Joint Secretary.

The Personnel Department has issued a notification confirming these elevations, marking a significant shift in the state’s bureaucratic structure.

These officers have been upgraded to a higher pay scale, now falling within the PV 4 bracket, ranging from Rs 37,400 to Rs 67,000, along with a Grade Pay of Rs 8,700 in level 13.

Among the promoted officers are Jyotsna Singh, the Director of the National Planning Program in Jamshedpur, and Manju Rani Swansi, the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Pakur.

Amar Kumar and Mohammad Asif Hasan, both Deputy Secretaries in the Personnel Department, have also received promotions.

Javed Anwar Idrishi, the ADM of Jamtara, and Surendra Kumar, Director of Administration in the Home Tax Directorate, are also among the newly promoted officers.

Manoj Kumar, another notable name, has been promoted from his previous position in the accounts administration sector in Dumka.

The promotions of these first batch officers in the Jharkhand Administrative Service, however, are subject to the outcome of a suit filed in the High Court, which could affect their new roles.
