Tata Steel’s Commitment to Safety Recognized with Kalinga Awards
Tata Steel’s Ferro Chrome Plants in Athagarh and Gopalpur have been awarded the Kalinga Safety Excellence Award for their exceptional safety standards.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s commitment to safety has been honored at the 14th National Safety Conclave, where its Ferro Chrome Plants in Athagarh and Gopalpur received the Kalinga Safety Excellence Awards.
The Athagarh plant was awarded the Platinum category, while the Gopalpur plant secured the Gold category for their outstanding safety performance in 2022.
These awards, presented by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS), recognize the highest standards of safety and operational integrity.
Dr. Sudhansu Sarangi, IPS, Director General, Fire Services and Commandant General, Home Guards and Director, Civil Defence, Odisha, presented the awards at a ceremony in a city hotel.
Bathula Srinivas, Head of the Ferro Chrome Plant in Athagarh, and Atla Rambabu, Head of the Gopalpur plant, received the awards on behalf of Tata Steel.
Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-Charge (FAMD) at Tata Steel, expressed gratitude to the jury and emphasized that the awards will further motivate their team in maintaining high safety standards.
The plants, previously under Tata Steel Mining Limited and now part of the Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD), have consistently upheld Tata Steel’s ethos of prioritizing workforce welfare.
