In a stride for agrarian innovation, Aloka Rani Mahato redefines sustainable farming.

JAMSHEDPUR – Breaking the society’s thinking towards women, Aloka Rani Mahato of Tamakpal village of Ghatshila block has emerged as a source of inspiration for women.

She started farming in the old way, but today she is earning profit by farming with new techniques.

Aloka Rani Mahato is especially known for the cultivation of cabbage.

To solve the problem of irrigation, solar powered pumpsets were given from Johar Project.

Garma Moong was cultivated in 1 acre and they are being made skilled by including them in technical training programs.

So that they can provide proper guidance to other nearby farmers also.

The DC of East Singhbhum Manjunath Bhajantri has lauded the efforts of Aloka Rani Mahato and the results that she has achieved with her hard work.

He said that she has now become an apt inspiration for those who want to make farming a profitable career option.

Equipped with these solar pumps, Mahato is part of Jharkhand’s progressive push towards sustainable agriculture.

The state’s initiative to distribute solar pumps aims to improve farmers’ lives by increasing their irrigation potential without overexploiting groundwater.

The JOHAR scheme, assisting farmers like Mahato, has already benefited regions across 11 districts and 36 blocks, empowering communities and enhancing agricultural productivity.
