Padma Shri Chhutni Mahto Joins Forces with Deputy Commissioner in East Singhbhum District

Jamshedpur initiative to eradicate witchcraft and drug addiction gets governmental support; Padma Shri Chhutni Mahto, Deputy Commissioner speak on societal change.

JAMSHEDPUR – A one-day workshop was organized in East Singhbhum district.

It was conducted on the instructions of the Central and State Government regarding witchcraft and drug addiction campaigns.

Deputy Commissioner Manju Nath Bhajantri was the chief guest, and Padmashree Chutni Mahato attended as a special guest.

All Manki Mundas of the district and administrative officers were present.

The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

In his address, Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri emphasized that society is changing and that thinking must change too.

He stated that witchcraft and intoxication are hindrances to societal progress and must be eradicated from the root.

He described witchcraft as a superstition and appealed for change at the social level to succeed in its eradication.

The Deputy Commissioner also noted that both the Prime Minister of the country and the Chief Minister of the state are serious about combating drug addiction and witchcraft, and that it must be a joint effort with society.
