Dr. Sanjiv Paul warns of 1.5°C global temperature increase by 2030 at XLRI event, emphasizing the need for climate change awareness and action.

Jamshedpur – The convocation of 21st VIL and Corporate Programs of XLRI took place on Tuesday, with certificates awarded to 839 students across various courses.

Dr. Sanjiv Paul, Former Vice President of Safety, Health & Sustainability at Tata Steel, served as the chief guest for the event.

During his address, Dr. Paul highlighted the alarming findings of the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) report, which predicts a 1.5-degree Celsius increase in Earth’s temperature by 2030.

Dr. Sanjiv Paul warns of 1.5°C global temperature increase by 2030 at XLRI event, emphasizing the need for climate change awareness and action.

According to Dr. Paul, this temperature increase will have detrimental effects on the entire world, including India.

He emphasized the rapidly growing global population, which is expected to reach 10 billion by 2040, as a significant factor placing pressure on Earth’s resources.

Dr. Paul called for greater awareness of climate change and urged everyone to fulfill their responsibilities in addressing this pressing issue.

He further stressed the importance of prioritizing the security of the country and the environment in all future endeavors.

Father S. George, Director of XLRI, also spoke at the event, highlighting the institute’s vision, mission, and longstanding commitment to virtual learning.

The XLRI’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, scheduled to take place from October 11, 2023, to October 10, 2024, were announced during the convocation.

Medals and certificates were awarded to the top-performing students across various courses.
