DESK – Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the 77th Independence Day.
He stated that India’s borders are now more secure and the nation has acquired new strategic strength.
He emphasized the Government’s resolve for national security, introducing military reforms.
These reforms target making the Armed Forces young and ready for future challenges.
The Prime Minister also noted the significant decrease in terrorist attacks in the country.
This decline, he said, has created a feeling of safety among the citizens and helped achieve new development goals.
The One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme, a long-demanded benefit for defense pensioners, was discussed.
Since coming to power, the Government has disbursed Rs 70,000 crore under the OROP scheme to ex-servicemen and their families.
The Prime Minister also extended Independence Day wishes to the Armed Forces, praising their role in securing the country.
