Mango Tailor Wins Golden Award in International Competition

30-year-old tailor from Mango, Md Shamim Ansari, wins the prestigious Golden Award at the Golden Finger Competition in Italy, bringing honor to Jamshedpur and India.

JAMSHEDPUR – The success of Md. Shamim Ansari in the tailoring industry has not only strengthened the standing of his family but also brought immense honor to Jamshedpur and the whole nation.

He credited his older brother, Md. Moin Ansari, who had previously won the Silver Award in the World Federation of Master Tailors competition in 2019, for his accomplishment.

Expressing his joy, Md. Shamim said, "Tailoring is my passion, and winning this worldwide competition has given me a chance to contact specialists from many nations thereby bolstering my confidence in my trade."

The international competition saw the participation of more than 300 renowned tailors from 34 different countries.

In the national selection contest held in Mumbai, Md. Shamim, a tailor master at Raymond Showroom on L Road in Bistupur, competed against more than 200 tailoring experts from across India and emerged victorious.

Upon his return to Tata Nagar Railway Station on the Geetanjali Express, local youngsters greeted him with garlands and roses, celebrating his triumph at the Golden Finger Competition held at Béla in Italy by the World Federation of Master Tailors.
