SERAIKELA – The Health Minister Banna Gupta actively participated in the District 20 Point Implementation Committee meeting in Seraikela Kharsawan, highlighting urgent matters of public interest, specifically pertaining to traffic safety.
The meeting, held at the Collectorate Office, was centered around the pressing issue of fatal accidents occurring on the Adityapur Kandra Seraikela major route.
Since January, there have been 105 fatal accidents on this route, resulting in numerous injuries, which calls for immediate intervention.
According to Minister Gupta, there is a crucial need to place CCTV cameras along the Adityapur-Kandra-Seraikela route to monitor both crime and the traffic system.
Gupta expressed concern about the unnecessary harassment of two-wheeler drivers from the villages under the pretext of vehicle inspection, and he urged the Deputy Commissioner to address this issue promptly.
The Deputy Commissioner, in response, expressed sincerity in his commitment to enhancing traffic safety and assured that all necessary measures, including the installation of CCTV cameras, would be handled before Durga Puja.
In addition to the urgent discussion of traffic safety, Suresh Dhari, a member of the District 20 Point Implementation Committee, was also present at the meeting to discuss plans for clearing the service road.
