On the fifth day of the nine-day-long Shri Ram Katha at Jugsalai Shri Rajasthan Shiv Temple, the epic story of Shri Ram and Sita’s marriage was narrated by Didi Mamta Pathak, a storyteller from Madhya Pradesh.
JAMSHEDPUR – The devotees gathered at the Jugsalai Shri Rajasthan Shiv Temple were captivated as Didi Mamta Pathak narrated the story of Shri Ram and Sita’s marriage on the fifth day of the nine-day-long Shri Ram Katha.
In her narration, Pathak described how the divine bow of Lord Shiva resided in King Janak’s palace.
One day, while cleaning the house, Sita moved the bow.
This led King Janak to make a vow to marry his daughter to the person who could successfully string the bow.
The news spread and all kings and emperors were invited to try their luck at the Swayamvar.
Despite numerous attempts by the visiting dignitaries, none could lift the bow, leading King Janak to despair for his daughter’s future.
However, when Shri Ram attempted to lift the bow with the blessing of his Guru, the bow broke, thus leading to the grand wedding of Sita and Shri Ram.
The occasion was marked with joyous celebrations, and the goddesses showered flowers on the couple.
The story was brought to life with melodious songs by the Bhajan Mandali, evoking the joyous moments of Shri Ram and Sita’s wedding.
Devotees broke into dance after the bhajan, and the evening concluded with an Aarti and the distribution of Prasad.
The event was attended by a large number of devotees, including Ratanlal Jagnani, Girdhari Lal Sharma, Rudramal Saraiwala, Pandit Bajrang Lal Sharma, Nandu Sigodia, Sourav Lal Sharma, and Naresh Agarwal.
