Seraikela District Ayurvedic Department Initiates Medicinal Plant Gardens in 12 Ayush Villages

The District Ayurvedic Department has undertaken an initiative to create medicinal plant gardens in 12 Ayush villages, promoting natural health remedies and environment sustainability.

SERAIKELA – For environmental and medical development, the District Ayurvedic Department has initiated the cultivation of medicinal plants in various gardens.

The project underscores the potential of natural medicine to provide pure and adverse effect-free health remedies.

Dr. Vipin Chandra Gupta, the district ayurvedic officer, and community health officials recently gathered for a meeting at the district ayurvedic dispensary to discuss this initiative.

During the meeting, the officials announced the plan to cultivate medicinal herbs and plants in all 12 Ayush villages in the district, focusing on health development and promoting greenery. Responsibility for maintaining and fostering the growth of these plantations was assigned to the caretakers of the Ayush villages.

The plantations are planned for Brahmakutumb, Murumdiha, Kadako villages in Rajnagar block; Kashidih, Siddhagora, Bordih villages in Nimdih block; Burudih, Dehuridih, Raidih villages in Kharsawan block; and Jagannathpur, Dumra, Rajgaon villages in Gamharia block.

The meeting also involved discussions about promoting awareness in the Ayush villages, with a deadline of July 31 set for establishing the plantings in all 12 villages.

Dr. Vipin Chandra Gupta further mentioned that health check-up camps for the elderly will be organized in 25 Health and Wellness Centres across the district. The camps will offer health examinations and Ayurvedic care to the elderly, while also raising awareness about the government’s commitment to their health. Homoeopathic physician Dr. Vinay Chandra Majhi and all community health officials were present at the meeting.
