NHES Champions Eco-Friendly Alternatives on Paper Bag Day
Students at Narbheram Hansraj English School promote the use of paper bags over plastic ones in a bid to encourage sustainable living.
JAMSHEDPUR – On Wednesday, July 12, Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) celebrated World Paper Bag Day, a significant initiative aimed at highlighting the environmental damage inflicted by plastic bags and advocating for the use of paper bags and other eco-friendly substitutes.
Globally observed, World Paper Bag Day aims to educate people about the advantages of using eco-friendly paper bags, sending out a poignant reminder of the necessity for sustainable living practices.
Students from NHES played a crucial role on this day, making paper bags from recycled newspapers and convincing buyers and sellers alike to adopt these environment-friendly alternatives.
The paper bag became a popular packing option after the invention of the first paper bag machine by Francis Wolle in 1852, marking a pivotal moment in history that led to the large-scale production of paper bags.
