Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh Protests for New Education Policy Implementation

Parents association stages one-day hunger strike, urging for immediate implementation of new education policy in Jharkhand state.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh organized a one-day fast-cum-dharna in front of the district headquarters.

The protest was aimed at demanding the implementation of the new education policy in Jharkhand state as soon as possible.

Dr. Umesh Kumar, President of the Abhibhavak Sangh, who led the hunger strike, shared the reasoning behind the demand.

Under the new education policy, he explained, free education should be provided to students from deprived classes up to class 12.

However, this is not the case in Jharkhand state where the older method is still in practice.

Under the existing system, free education is only provided up to class eight.

Families are then asked to pay for further education, creating a barrier for students from deprived classes who lack the necessary funds.

As a result, these students are being forced to stay away from education.

The Parents Association believes that the only solution to this problem is the immediate implementation of the new education policy in the state.

Once this is achieved, all students from deprived sections will be able to receive education up to class 12.

Through the Deputy Commissioner of the district, the Parents Association has submitted a demand letter to the state’s Chief Minister.
