Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation Demands Nationwide Population Control Act by September

In a recent letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation has demanded the enactment of a Population Control Act nationwide by September 23rd, highlighting economic concerns caused by rising population.

JAMSHEDPUR – On Tuesday, the Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi via the Deputy Commissioner, calling for the implementation of the Population Control Act across the country by September 23rd of this year.

The organization has also put forth several suggestions and evidence of widespread public backing for the proposed law.

Sumit Srivastava, the Foundation’s president, expressed concern about the impact of population growth on the nation’s economy, emphasizing the urgent need to address it.

For the past nine years, he said, the group has been advocating for this cause using multiple approaches, such as dharnas, protests, agitations, and demand letters, but the central government has yet to take action.

Srivastava indicated that they have amassed an extensive list of demands and secured the support of numerous MPs who wish to see the legislation enacted this year.

He revealed plans for a peaceful protest on September 22, 2023, in a temporary camp near the Delhi-Ghaziabad border as they wait for directions from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Upon receiving permission, a delegation will meet with the prime minister and present the demand letter.

Furthermore, Srivastava expressed his belief that passing the population control bill during this session will benefit the country, especially given the government’s intention to introduce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) under the one country, one law initiative.
